Access by public transportation.
From Tokyo, there is an option to get the limited express train or shinkansen. The shinkansen arrives at Takasaki Station faster, but you will have to transfer to a local train there, making the overall journey timefor the two options similar. It is best to determine which train to get based on your departure time. Take the limited express Kusatsu from Ueno Station to Naganoharakusatsuguchi Station, then transfer to the Agatsuma Line. Alight at Manza-Kazawaguchi Station and it is a 15-minute walk to Yamadaya Onsen Ryokan. Take the Joetsu Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Takasaki Station, then transfer to the Joetsu Line. Alight at Shibukawa Station, transfer to the Agatsuma line, alight at Manza-Kazawaguchi Station and it is a 15-minute walk to Yamadaya Onsen Ryokan. There is a bus from Karuizawa. There are only a few buses a day, so please check the timetable in advance. From Karuizawa Station, take the Seibu Kogen Bus (approx. 70 minutes) to Manza-Kazawaguchi Station and it is a 15-minute walk to Yamadaya Onsen Ryokan. *There is a free shuttle service from Manza-Kazawaguchi Station. Reservation required. Please inform the ryokan at time of reservation, or at least one day before your arrival if you wish to avail of the shuttle service. On the day, please call the ryokan when you arrive at the station.
