This architecture known as Oriyadachi (A residence and a place to weave Nishijin-ori textile), is a townhouse with a distinctive structure where the place to make the textile is placed in the interior so that the sound of weaving will not disturb the neighborhood, and is a precious architecture which can only be seen around this area.

The distinctive taste, beauty and texture of the Oriyadachi which has a high ceiling and a spacious space are maintained, and the girder, pillars and old tools are reused while new technology are adapted making the life of the resident comfortable.

The spaces in the interior are independent yet has a feeling of connection, and when you open the windows, you may enjoy the good ventilation. The taste of the old are maintained while there is height and space, and "a comfortable space" has been realized.

You may sight see by foot or by bicycle, of you may relax in the house viewing the inner garden, or if you are tired of walking, you may chat with your friends at the cafe in Kamihichiken. You may walk around the home of Nishijin-ori listening to the sound of the weaving, or visit the Kinkakuji temple which is a popular spot in Kyoto, aiming for the time when is it not that crowded. It is a fully booked machiya accommodation, and you may enjoy a calming and private space different to that of the machiya in Kyoto city with your friends.

It is a peaceful historical architecture which has been renovated after been built in 1925. It stands in the Nishijin district, and is a Kyoto style two storied townhouse, known as Kyomachiya. This area is positioned as the historical town preservation district by the Japanese government. The residents of this area is full with spirit to protect the historical scenery where the beautiful Kyoto kimonos were born.
