Opened in 1915, Nagatoro Choseikan has been a part of the history of Nagatoro tourism for a long time. All rooms face the gardens and Arakawa River, and guests can enjoy a panoramic view of Nagatoro's Iwadatami, an exposed rock formation that has been designated as a place of a special natural monument by the government. You can try out the bath with concentrated bamboo nutrients in the public bathing area, while the open-air bath with winds blowing from Nagatoro Valley is the perfect place to relax after your travels. There are many items on offer for dinner, with some food that have been served at Choseikan since it first opened, such as coarsely ground carp, wild boar hot pot, grilled river fish, and more. Greenery and clear streams - Nagatoro is situated by the source of Arakawa River. It is the perfect place to admire the beauty of nature, but there are a variety of other ways to enjoy your stay in Nagatoro, including flowing somen noodles, rafting, and more.

It is about a 3-minute walk from Nagatoro Station on the Chichibu Railway. The Japanese red pine that stands at the entrance has been welcoming guests to Choseikan since it first opened, and is said to be a symbol of the ryokan. There are also seasonal flowers to welcome you at the entrance. Once through the lobby, you will come to the Japanese garden and the Nagatoro Valley. They can be seen from the guestrooms as well, but please feel free to walk around the garden. The viewing spot in the garden allows guests to see Nagatoro Valley and Iwadatami up-close. The scenery created by the flowers blooming in the garden and Nagatoro Valley change with the weather and the season. Enjoy a relaxing stay at this ryokan, who prides itself on the views it provides.Read moreClose
