玉造温泉 湯之助の宿 長楽園 Chorakuen

Ryokan/Inn Go To トラベル対象
Chorakuen / Shimane Matsue・Yasugi・Tamatsukuri・Okuizumo 12

Tamatsukuri Onsen was founded by Toshikata Hasegawa in the early Nara period. It is one of the best well-known hot springs mentioned even in The Pillow Book. The founder of the hot spring, Toshikata Hasegawa, lived in Chorakuen for many years and for that reason the history of the Chorakuen is similar to Tamtsukuri Onen’s history.

In 1868 Chorakuen was established as a Ryokan.
The reason why “Yunosuke’s Inn” became a part of the Inn’s name Chorakuen is that we, the descendants of Yunosuke who was appointed by Matsue Domain as an administrator of the hot spring during the Edo period, have been taking care of Tamatsukuri Onsen since then.

One of the Chorakuen’s attractions is a large mixed outdoor spa called 'Ryugu no yu', located in the garden. This outdoor spa was completed in 1909 and is proud to be the largest one in Japan. You can experience relaxing bath in the natural hot spring while enjoying a beautiful view of the garden.

If you like one more trip, you can’t miss a circuit style Japanese garden covering an area of 33,000 square meters.
Not only that you can see the Imperial Chamber, which is famous in connection with Emperor Showa, but also time spend in a place surrounded with hundreds of kinds of trees and plants brimming with Chorakuen’s hospitality.

Plenty of specialties of Sanin region.
We offer Izumo’s unique seasonal specialties such as crabs, rosy sea bass, Shimane’s wagyu beef, and freshwater clams. Enjoy these with our local high-quality sake.

Hopefully, you will be able to enjoy relaxation at our rooms that will make you feel like you were in some villa or deluxe suit style hideout in mountain.
Wouldn’t you try to rediscover precious things you might have lost sight of in daily life at Chorakuen in a place that treasures the traditional Ryokan’s hospitality?

It is still uncomfortable to be honest that the condition of the reservation has been changed without notice or contact, and that it is said "special" to stay as the original condition, but for others other than the reputation It was an inn. The wide mixed bathing stall bath was really pleasant and I went to go many times. There was a part that the age entered in the facility, but I was not worried much because maintenance and cleaning were perfect. The reception counters were rearranged at check-in and out, and the experiences of the people who took care of me at the meal was very polite and I was pleasantly worried about the care about here. The meal was also very delicious and we ate to breakfast which we can not usually eat. In addition, I would like to stay by all means if there is opportunity to go to Tamasu Onsen.

We stayed for the first time in 6 years. The dish was delicious last time as well, but this time it was very delicious. A little disappointing thing that tempura was bachobesho. Was the frying temperature low? On the other hand, morning miso soup was great. I also had delicious overnight dried curry. I feel sorry that Nakai's service level is lower than that of cooking. When bringing out a new dish, when the customer finished eating the food finished first and then do not set it on the table, the customer starts eating when setting, so the work of lowering the vessel overlaps with the meal of the customer and becomes an obstacle. Improvement is necessary. Then, air waves were used for the quasi-special room bed, and I could sleep very comfortably.
