Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

Kitayuzawa Onsen is a hot spring located in Date City, Hokkaido. There are 8 accommodations of various dimensions along Osaru River, which flows through the valley.
In this area, the green tuff on the riverbed is exposed, so it is called “Shirakinu no Toko (the riverbed of white silk)” and attracts a lot of tourists.
Please enjoy seasonal sceneries of the valley such as green in summer, tinted leaves in autumn and snowscape in winter, as well as fresh local food such as river fish, sea fish and mushrooms.

Effects and characteristics of Hot Springs

Kitayuzawa Onsen was opened by the colonists in Meiji Period, and has been loved as an excellent hot spring that soothes the fatigue of the people who was opening up the land.
The spring quality is simple spring. The water has effects on rheumatism, neuralgia and skin diseases, so it has been popular as therapeutic spa since old times.
