Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

Toi Onsen is a base for sightseeing in west part of Izu.

The two Kanji characters that represent “Toi” literary means “fertile land” because this place is filled with natural resources such as gold mine, hot spring, a variety of seafood, and the coast.

Sandwiched with the sea in front and mountain in the back, this hot spring resort is blessed with rich nature and is well-known for beautiful sunset view.

Effects and characteristics of Hot Springs

In fact, Toi Onsen consists of six hot spring sources.
The history of Toi Onsen began in Edo period (1603-1868) when drilling Toi mountain for mining.

As for hot spring quality, it is chloride spring and sulfate spring that are effective on neuralgia, rheumatism, muscle pain, hypertension, and arteriosclerosis.

For another great feature ofToi Onsen, it is blessed with four public baths.

Among the four public baths, Yakata public bath is located just in front of the beach that is popular among sea bathers.
