Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

Amagase Onsen which is located by Kusu River which is a branch of Chikugo River is one of Bungo's Three major Onsen in Oita Prefecture along with Beppu and Yufuin Onsen.

By the dry riverbed of Kusu River, there is a Coorporate Riverbed Outdoor Spa. The outdoor spa creates clouds of steamvapor in the middle of the valley with a beautiful river and nature, creating a tasteful scenery.

If you go downstream, there is Hita-no-machi, which is known as the small Kyoto of the Kyushu Area, Tenryo Hita.

Effects and characteristics of Hot Springs

Amagase Onsen opened approximately 1200 years ago, and it is a historical Onsen spot which is also inscribed in the Bungo Topography from the Nara Period.

The spring quality is Chloride Spring, Hydrogen Carbonate Spring, Sulfur Spring, Simple Thermal Spring. It is told to be effective for cuts, peripheral circulatory disorder, coldness and dry skin.
