The scattered hot springs in the islands surrounded by the indigo blue sea

Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

The beautiful islands of Amakusa in the western part of Kumamoto Prefecture are surrounded by the indigo blue sea. These islands had been isolated before the construction of the Five Bridges of Amakusa in 1966. Amakusa is dotted with several hot springs. Most of the inns and the facilities to drop by are situated by the coast, so you can easily enjoy bathing.
Amakusa is surrounded by the sea and well-known also for its delicious seafood, which is one of the best seafood dishes throughout Japan. After bathing, you can enjoy some dynamic seafood dishes, which the inns are proud of.
This place is famous also for wild dolphin watching, which is rare in Japan.
