Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

Yamanakako Onsen is located by Lake Yamanaka, which is one of the Fuji Five Lakes in the southeastern part of Yamanashi Prefecture. It is just about one hour and a half away from Tokyo, and has been developed as resort area near the capital of Japan.
This place is on a plateau at an elevation of about 1000 meters, and famous for its seasonal flowers and wild birds. Here you can feel sweet fragrance of flowers and bird tweets coming out of nowhere.
Mt. Fuji, which is seen from beautiful Lake Yamanaka, changes its magnificent aspect every season and weather. Perhaps you may have a chance to meet “Red Fuji” under the sunrays.

Effects and characteristics of Hot Springs

The hot spring of Lake Yamanaka is highly-concentrated alkaline spring and soft to the touch. It has effects not only on neuralgia, muscle pain, shoulder stiffness and arthralgia but also on gastrointestinal diseases and cold constitution. In addition, a chill after a bath does not occur easily. It has a nickname “the hot water of beauty” because it makes the skin smoother.
