Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

At the foot of the Central Alps lies a hot spring village on Komagane Kogen (Plateau) along Otagiri River.

In the neighborhood, a historic temple Kozenji stands that was one of the five greatest Tendai sect's Shinano chapters.This place is famous for weeping cherry trees. Hayataro Onsen was named after the legendary dog, Hayataro.

Effects and characteristics of Hot Springs

This hot spring was opened in 1994. It was named after a dog kept at the ancient temple Kozenji. The spirited dog that exterminated a monstrous old baboon is still alive in the legend at Kozenji.

The hot spring is simple alkaline. The clear, soft water is treasured as Beauty Water that turns the skin nice and smooth. It's effective for arthritis, sore muscles, joint pain, chronic digestive illness, etc.
