Atsushio Onsen(Kitakata Onsen)

A hot spring loved by the lords of Aizu and the common people

Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

This hot spring is in the northern part of Aizu Basin in Fukushima Prefecture, and is named “Atsushio Onsen” because the spring water was very hot and salty.
The area near “Jigen Temple” where this hot spring gushes out is tranquil, narrow and surrounded by mountains.
Here you can enjoy the beautiful nature of each season such as spring cherry blossom, fresh green and autumnal leaves, as well as its long story and rustic peacefulness.
This is also the birthplace of “Kitakata Ramen”, which is one of the “Best Three Ramen in Japan”.
