Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

This hot spring gushes out in Muika Town in Niigata Prefecture, where rice fields of a brand rice named “Minami-Uonuma Koshihikari” stretch and the three mountains of Echigo such as Mt. Hakkai are visible in the distance.
While bathing in this famous spa gushing out in the area where Kagekatsu Uesughi and Kanetsugu Naoe used to run in the old days, you will think nostalgically upon them in nature where colors change seasonally, and feel like being a brave warrior of the Sengoku Period. After bathing, you can fully enjoy some delicious dishes of Echigo Province, and feel a blissful time while eating flavorful rice.

Effects and characteristics of Hot Springs

It has been more than 60 years since this hot spring suddenly burst forth in 1957. It was designated as a People’s Recreation Spa by the Ministry of the Environment for its good effectiveness.
