Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

Needless to say, Ako region in Hyogo is best known for Chushingura (The Treasury of Loyal Retainers) and home to the masterless samurai of Ako.

In the neighbourhood, you can visit Oishi Shrine, where the soul of Yoshio Oishi, a leader of 47 masterlesss samurai of Ako, is enshrined. Ako is also known for Ako brand salt and you can experience traditional salt making at Ako Seaside Park.

Effects and characteristics of Hot Springs

Ako Onsen opened in 1969. A new hot spring source discovered in the center of town was drilled in 2000.

This new hot spring contains rich sodium and minerals, and it is well known as “Yomigaeri no yu” (Rejuvenating bath) for its effectiveness on health improvement and beautifying skin.
