Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

Bato Onsen, well-known as a beautifying bath, is located in Nakagawa Town in Tochigi.

Bato Onsen is actually a generic name that covers five hot springs and each one is situated along River Naka where beautiful sunset can be viewed.

Nakagawa Town is blessed with rich nature that offers a wide range of sightseeing activities including Bato Park where you can enjoy picnic, Nakagawa-machi Bato Hiroshige Art of Museum that exhibits a collection of Hiroshige Ando and other artists, and the facility you can experience pottery.

Effects and characteristics of Hot Springs

Bato Onsen consists of five different hot springs that enables you to enjoy various hot spring qualities.

Hirose Onsen represents “Bijin-no-Yu (beautifying bath)” that is high alkaline and helps beautify your skin.

Koisago Onsen equips a radioactive hot spring called “Mitama-no-Yu” bath that contains natural radon.

There are three walk-in spa facilities available so you could enjoy Onsen hopping.
