Sakakibara Onsen

The Beauty Hot Spring cherished since 1000 AD

Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

Sakakibara Onsen is a peaceful hot spring resort along a river in Sakakibara Town, Tsu City in Mie Prefecture.

Sakakibara River runs through a forested mountain, adorned with cherry trees in full bloom, dancing fireflies, and brilliant autumn leaves.

Take in the colors of four seasons, listen to the murmuring of a clear stream, and let the blessing of the hot spring heal your body and mind.

Aoyama Kogen is nearby, a beautiful scenic plateau dotted with wind generators that hikers and drivers enjoy throughout four seasons.

Effects and characteristics of Hot Springs

Sakakibara Onsen was once called "Nanakuri-no-Yu (Seven-Chestnut Hot Spring)." Around 1000 AD, a famous female poet, Seisho Nagon lauded and loved this place, "Hot springs must be Nanakuri-no-Yu, Arima-no-Yu, and Tamatsukuri-no-Yu." People long ago used to stop by here for a cleansing ritual on the way to Ise Shrine.

This is a simple alkaline spring.

After bathing, the skin feels so smooth and supple that it has earned the name "the beauty hot water." It is effective for chronic rheumatoid arthritis, skin diseases, female problems, and arthritis.
