Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

This is a hot spring in Nanao City at the eastern shore of Noto Penninsla in Ishikawa Prefecture. You can relax in hot water while watching the ocean waves of Nanao Bay.

As called "Kanazawa's Backroom", there are 21 inns, mostly big classy accomodation.

Taste excellent seafood from Toyama Bay in Japan Sea, such as Kano Crab, cold-season Yellowtail, Rosy Seabass, and Noto Beef.

In 2011, a public bath "Wakura Onsen Soto" reopened, where you can enjoy 100% natural hot spring.

Effects and characteristics of Hot Springs

This is a sodium, calcium - chloriede spring (hipertonic, slightly alkaline, high temperature), where the near 90°C (194°F) hot water is cooled down for use. The highly salty hot spring is effective for sterilizing, and believed to be especially good for skin diseases.

This spring was discovered 1200 years ago, when a white heron was treating a wound in the hot water, a legend says.
