Sumoto Onsen

A new hot spring in the Mitsukekuni, commanding a beautiful night view of Osaka

Introduction of Hot Springs (Onsen)

Sumoto Onsen is a hot spring located in Sumoto City, Hyogo Prefecture, which commands a city view of Osaka beyond Kitan Strait. Thanks to the opening of Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, this area is getting more and more popular as resort of Kansai Region and as tourist spot of Awaji Island. Awaji Island was called “Mitsukekuni” in ancient times, which means that this province used to offer a lot of food to the loyal family, and even now the island is a rich repository of delicious food. At the inns standing along the coast, you can enjoy highly elaborated seafood dishes such as Naruto sea bream and Ise lobster, which were tossed about by the whirling waves.
