Asarigawa Onsen is located in Otaru, Hokkaido.

As it is surrounded by mountains, it is called “Back room of Otaru.”

Lake Otarunai, a manmade lake as part of Asari dam, is a perfect place for picnic and walking.

Effects and characteristics of Hot Springs

Asarigawa Onsen is a relatively new hot spring that was established in 1954.

They say that the presence of this hot spring was found when someone saw deer was bathing.

It is sodium calcium chloride spring that offers wide range of health benefits that is effective on neuralgia, muscle pain, female disorders and sensitivity to cold.

A public bath “Yuragi-no-Yu” is also available.
