Effects and characteristics of Hot Springs

Ureshino Onsen is one of “the Three best spas of skin beautification of Japan”, and its water is very smooth to the touch.
This place was named after a legend: one day Empress Jingu stopped by this place after the war, and saw a white crane curing its wing with the spring water. Then she told some injured soldiers to take a bath in the spring, saw that their wounds had healed, and said: “Oh, I’m so glad” (meaning “ureshi”).
The spring has two qualities: hydrogen carbonate spring and chloride spring. The water has effects on neuralgia, rheumatism, female disorders, gastrointestinal diseases and so on.
