積善館 Sekizenkan Ryokan

Sekizenkan Ryokan / Gunma Shima・Azuma・Kawarayu 2

The name of the ryokan comes from one of the phrases of the sacred book of Confucianism.
Sekizenkan which holds a history of more than 300 years since its establishment in the Edo period, has welcomed many writers and artists.

Shima onsen is a place where people gathered to heal since long time ago.
At Sekizenkan, the hot spring which flows from the bottom of the river is drawn into four places and you may enjoy the bath in your own style.

The "Sanso" which inherits the prosperity of the Showa era and "Kashotei" where you encounter the new perspective are buildings where it grant a stay of a blend of the new and the old.

The national tangible asset and "Sanso" which is a legacy of the Gunma prefecture is a place where the elegance of the Momoyama period and the detailed techniques of the artisans shine.
You may enjoy the quiet environment and wonder, or read books of the then master writers. It will lure you to the romance of Showa era no matter how you spend your day.

Kashotei stands on the hill in the interior than the Sanso.
When you look out the window, there will be a young and old pine tree.
The beginning and end of life which circulates along with the passing of the seasons and its glamour and tranquility will teach you that it is a special place.

Dinner which will be served in each building is a kaiseki which you may experience the essence of Japanese cuisine.
At Sanso, it will change seasonally and at Kashotei, is will change monthly.
For breakfast, enjoy the "Ganroku rice porridge" which has been revived after 300 years.
A softening morning will be presented with the luxurious rice porridge made from the hot spring.

Please experience the harmony of the modern, tradition and history at Sekizenkan.

It was wonderful for 1 in the foot of the mountain cottage. The meal is very delicious. The rooms and meals are very satisfying, but the young Japanese staff are tired with no smiles, whether they are part-timers of college students. Elderly people and foreign staff are more polite. Anything can be used as long as the room is cheap, but the staff's response level is honestly low in the inn of the same rank when considering the rank of the room. I think that the way customers feel is different just because they have a caress about Nico.

I had a great time. Thank you very much. The food was well-balanced in terms of appearance, taste, and quantity, and I was satisfied with the contents that I could just eat after drinking. One question was that it was steamed foie gras, but I didn't know how I used foie gras. Because it was a mountain villa, it smelled like mold. I think that the COSPA was good. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay for both food and service along with the experience of staying at Sekizenkan.

Sanso Japanese Western Style Room

The traditional Japanese-style hotel in the depths of the jungle, the environment is very good, the hot springs are very good, the most like Du の soup, the open air is very comfortable. The building of the Jishan Pavilion has a long history, so the interior of the building is relatively old, the Jiasong Pavilion is relatively new, and the restaurant environment is very good. The room with our balcony spa was very large and very comfortable. The dishes for dinner are very rich, but the taste is not used.
