The name of the inn comes from “Shosuke Ohara,” a fictional character in the folk song “Aizu Bandaisan.” He loved sake and hot springs. “Hanare Matsushima-kaku” was remodeled in 2012 as an all suite hotel. Its concept is to provide a quality space mixed with Japanese ambiance and the functionality of the western style. There are 8 different types of guest rooms which boast beautiful design and a touch of class and at the same time, a supreme comfort. The Higashiyama Onsen, which was discovered by Gyouki-shounin, is a legendary hot spring with a history of 1300 years. Soaking in an iron pot bath, “Shosuke-sakefuro,” and a private bath with a view “Ichiroku-yoru-no-yu,” guests can enjoy an experience of becoming a part of nature of Aizu. A harmony of old-fashioned tradition and a modern design makes the space fresh yet nostalgic. Happiness is found not in a special luxury place, but in your every day life. We wish guests to find a happiness here at “Hanare Matsushima-kaku” as you encounter the richness and elegance in your daily life.

◆ Large public spa “Shousuke-furo” It is a large public bath named after a fictional character Shousuke Ohara who loved sake and hot springs. Guests can enjoy a view of the waterfall, “Fushimi-ga-taki.” An open-air bath “Furu-no-yu” is located just outside of the Shosuke-furo. ◆ Open-air bath “Furu-no-yu” It is an open-air bath named as Furu-no-yu(Old Hot Spring)because of its close location to the origin of Higashiyama Onsen. Has the best view of the waterfall. The hot springs which supply hot water to our hotel are of Yadoyama Onsen Hot Spring, and Yusen Yado Hot Spring.
